About Us
Royal Highlands is an "active adult (55+)" community located in central Florida.
Our Bicycle Club was established in 2001 by a small group of retirees with a common interest in riding bicycles on the many scenic state trails in our area. We currently have about 70 members. While most of our members are residents of Royal Highlands, we also have several members from other nearby communities.
Community Rides:
(Inside the Royal Highlands community).
Our rides are scheduled on even numbered weekdays and on Saturdays.
Occasionally we ride in neighboring communities with their bike clubs.
Meet at the Great Hall for all rides. See calendar for schedule and times.
Trail Rides:
(outside the community)
Trail rides are usually on local trails, but some are on less traveled "back" roads.
All are paved surfaces. (Bikes must be transported to trailheads by car.)
Meet at the Great Hall for all rides. See calendar for schedule and times.
Commentary:
We have a community ride every Saturday morning, and we ride on all even numbered weekdays
(check calendar for times) starting at the Great Hall.
We try to accommodate both faster and slower riders.
We encourage non-members and visitors to come ride with us. (You might like us, we're a fun group).
We are not only a bicycle club, we also have lots of other activities (often centered around eating) that our social committee plans for us. You're invited to come out and join us on any of our scheduled rides, or come to a club meeting which is held on the first Monday of each month at 4:00pm in the Royal Highlands Recreation Center meeting room.
Mission Statement: To promote recreation and exercise centered around bicycling,
safety, fellowship, and discovery of new trails, with fun and food.
